Our trip to Gibraltar ( a post by Andrea van den Akker Jiménez).

It all started as a joke. Due to the pandemic, senior high school students have been affected if we talk about trips. We really wanted to travel and one day the multilingual students suggested going to Gibraltar, because it was the closest place where they could practice their English. Although it may seem incredible, we succeeded and that is why I am writing this article, to tell you about our experience.

On January 12, 2023 we went to Gibraltar, our teachers had prepared a gymkhana for us to get to know the place; Abudarham Synagogue, the cemetery, the Rock,…we learned interesting things like what the national day was there or what newspapers were sold.

We took a tour of the place by taxi and we got to the top of the rock from which there were impressive views. We made friends, their names were Macaca sylvanus, they played with us and climbed us to pose so you could take a picture, but you had to be careful because if you got distracted they would put their hand in your pocket and steal your tissues or glasses. There are 5 families there, with about 30 individuals in each one, they belong to the government, which is the one who takes care of them.

It was an intense day in which we saw many things and really enjoyed the experience. Our language assistant, Avi, photographed many of the moments there to make it easier for us to remember that day like a special one.

In the following videos you an take a look at ttwo of the best teams that took part in our gymkhana.
